FESTIVAL Logistics

Please note that there is plenty of parking behind City Hall, by Mill Race Park, and throughout downtown Galt.  Check the parking map for locations.  Please do not park in the Food Basics parking lot (across from the Mill Race Park) or at any establishments that are doing business during the festival!

DIRECTIONS TO FESTIVAL SITE

FROM 401 EAST (Toronto etc.)
NOTE: Due to construction in 2011, we recommend the Townline Road route, rather than the Highway 24 route further down.

Via Townline Road (recommended):
Exit at Townline Road, head South.
You will encounter a Roundabout. From there, take the Can-Amera Parkway to Franklin Blvd.
Turn left, then proceed to the intersection of Franklin and Samuelson/Clyde Rd (Clyde Rd on your left, becomes Samuelson on your right).
Turn right onto Samuelson, then left onto Beverley Street.
Continue through the intersection of Beverley and Dundas Sts (Hwy 8), and through the intersection of Beverley and Kerr Streets.
Toward the end of that block, you will find the Beverley Street and Wellington Street Parking lots on your left. You may park there (Note - this parking lot is not identified as such on the city's parking map! It's the grey area on the right.) or at any number of lots in downtown Galt.

Via Highway 24 (not recommended in 2011):
Take the Highway 24 cut-off
Go South on Highway 24 past all the plazas on "hamburger alley"
This takes approximately fifteen minutes.
At Parkhill Road,  Food Basics is on the left, Mill Race Park is on the right.
This is the main site.  Free parking is available at various locations nearby.

FROM 401 WEST (London etc.)
Take the Highway 97 (Cedarcreek Road) cut-off
Follow this through pastoral countryside until you enter Cambridge itself
Cross over the Grand River and turn left IMMEDIATELY upon crossing the bridge
Keep going North on Water St (Hwy 24), past Main Street and past Dickson St (where you will see festival activities on  both those streets on your right), until you see the parking lot of Mill Race park on your left (indicated by a tent).  Free parking is available all through the downtown and programmes are available at all festival sites.

FROM Hamilton (via Highway 8)
Take Highway 8 to Cambridge
Turn left at the first McDonald's Restaurant you see.
This is Highway 97 (Main Street East).
Follow this for two sets of lights
Veer right past the island at the second set of lights and continue on Main Street East
Proceed down a steep hill with a school on the left
At the second set of lights at the bottom of the hill, turn right
This is Ainslie Street.
Continue past Dickson Street where you will see festival activity on the right.
Just ahead at Parkhill Road,  Food Basics is on the left, Mill Race Park is on the right.
This is the main site.  Free parking is available at various locations nearby.
